Orville Peck and The Wiggles Team Up For 'Friends of Dorothy' Single

Orville Peck - Friends of Dorothy

In an era when so many major brands - Target, Ford and Lowes - and media companies - like Disney - are pulling away from public support of LGBTQ causes and representation, one surprising kid-focused franchise, The Wiggles, is doing the exact opposite.

The group has teamed up with Orville Peck, the masked gay country singer, for a new country song.

On the surface, it's just a fun little kids song about the popular Wiggles' character, Dorothy the Dinosaur.

But the title, "Friends of Dorothy," is also a cheeky wink to the classic reference to being a gay man, or a "friend of Dorothy."  Some claim the Dorothy being referenced in the classic saying is Dorothy Gale, the lead character in the Wizard of Oz. However, The Los Angeles Times claimed the phrase is likely related to writer Dorothy Parker, a member of the Algonquin Round Table who had many gay friends.

There is absolutely nothing explicitly gay about the single. But the countdown has begun for far right idiots to lose their minds as word gets out a gay cowboy is singing a kids song!

You can check it out below. But remember, it's for the under ten crowd.
