Grindr unveils updates for 2025
Get ready, Grindr users – 2025 is shaping up to be a huge year! The company is hoping to rebrand as the Global Gayborhood in Your Pocket, promising more features, more connections, and a lot more fun coming your way.
Expect to see new features like AI-powered chat summaries (so you can remember what you were talking about without scrolling endlessly) and a personalized “A-list” that highlights your top connections.
Plus, there’s an exciting new travel heatmap that shows where all the action is, whether you’re at home or traveling around the world. And for the jet-setters, the new Travel Pass package will make sure you’re always connected, with perks like unlimited Roam and Boost, a "Visitor" badge on your profile, and even chat translations for those international flings.
Grindr is also looking beyond dating, with plans to expand into health and wellness in 2025. This follows a big year of innovation in 2024, with features like the popular Right Now option (for when you need an instant connection) and the expansion of Super Boost, which puts your profile front and center. Oh, and let’s not forget Wingman, the AI assistant designed to help you make that connection.
“Over the last several years, we’ve made significant investments in technology, and in 2024, users experienced major strides with new product launches like Right Now, Interest, and Roam. Our team’s rapid innovation has allowed us to expand our roadmap with new features beyond what we announced only last June,” said AJ Balance, Grindr’s Chief Product Officer. “I’m especially excited about integrating responsible AI and ML to create a more personalized and impactful experience for our users.”
What does it really mean, though? Most likely higher prices and more "features" hidden behind a paywall. What was once a great app is becoming increasingly user-UNfriendly.
